With a register built on a shared Excel file, these errors weren't accidents — they were built into the system. And that was only the tip.

We deployed Odoo with a complete retail stack: Point of Sale, Sales, Inventory, Barcodes, Purchasing, Accounting, Project, Planning, Marketing, plus the Shopify connector and Claude's AI module for catalog imports, accounting classification, and bank reconciliation.
POS replaces the Excel register: prices come from product cards, impossible to sell at $10 what's tagged $100. Labels print directly, with barcodes. QuickBooks and Prextra are gone: every sale writes to Odoo's journal automatically.
What we took from this.
A lot of SMBs stack software like boxes in a basement. Each does its job, but between them, nobody. So you become the bridge yourself: copy, paste, fix, apologize.
The real lesson from Boutique Nuance: your tools must work for you — not the other way around.
